Is “good” good enough?

Sean Modster has made a name for himself by being a reliable target for one of Boise States greatest quarterbacks. His leadership on and off the field was instrumental in the Broncos being successful before the running game came around consistently later in the year. He showed versatility, poise, and focus throughout the year to lead the Broncos in receptions, yards, and tied for the lead in touchdown catches.

Strengths

Modster is one of those players that’s just good. He has good speed, good hands, and good awareness. He has a knack for making running routes and making tough catches look easy. At 5’11”, he has enough size to play both slot or the outside and the ability to get separation in his routes as well. He’s developed his ability to stay in windows in the zone and make himself a good target for his QB.

Weaknesses

Being “good” was just listed as a strength, but it also means that he doesn’t have elite skills that teams look for at the next level. He doesn’t have elite speed, hands, strength, or agility. Modster also struggles to get separation in the end zone. Although he tied for the lead in touchdowns for the Broncos, they only came in four games.

Projection

As hopeful as I am, I don’t think Modster will actually be drafted. That being said, I do think he will hear from some teams after the draft and will very likely be in a camp come fall.
