On his way to being an all-time great.
It’s a rare thing for a college football athlete to have a career quite like that of Logan Wilson, the Wyoming Cowboys linebacker who is the first athletes on our countdown to have received a #1 vote and checks in at #5 among the Mountain West’s best in 2019.

Since being named the conference’s freshman of the year back in 2016, Wilson has continued to produce as a tackling machine on one of the Mountain West’s toughest units, leading the Cowboys for the second straight season with 103 tackles and cementing himself as a near-lock to crack the program’s all-time top five. He’s continued to excel in other facets of the game, though, by tallying 11 tackles for loss and two interceptions in 2018.
In short, the Casper native is an unquestioned leader as much of the old guard from Craig Bohl’s early defenses has moved on and the team brings new talent into the starting lineup. If you tune in to watch the brown and gold anytime this fall, you’re likely to see a lot of #30 as a result.
