Aztecs Embarrassed By Brown
Brown Shoots Lights Out To Beat Aztecs
San Diego State shoots poorly and gets beat by Brown
When the offense and defense can not get it going then nights like tonight happen. San Diego State could not stop Brown early or get its shot to follow and ultimately fell to the Bears 82-61.
San Diego State’s defense was as non-existent as its offense in the first half and that led to the Bears taking a 50-20 lead in the first half. The Aztecs scored the first basket of the game, however that was the only lead they would have all game as the Bears took and early double-digit lead. After a Schakel three-pointer cut the lead to six, the Bears went on a 26-2 run to end the first half.
The second half was more of the same as the Bears continued their hot play. Every time the Aztecs seemed to put some big plays together Brown would come back and hit a couple of big shots to kill all momentum. In the end the Aztecs made the game seem closer than it really was, but took the loss all the same.
Brown was led by sophomore Desmond Cambridge who finished with 25 points. Tamenang Choh chipped in with 16, while Obi Okolie had 14 and Joshua Howard had 11. For the game the Bears shot 53% from the field and from three-point range.
The Aztecs were led by Jalen McDaniels who finished with 19 points and six rebounds. The only other player to score in double figures was freshman Aguek Arop who finished 11.
