2019 Senior Bowl: Trio Of Mountain West Players Invited
The most prestigious All-Star game has a few Mountain West players
Will these players get drafted?
The Senior Bowl has basically filled out its roster for the 2019 edition of the high profile event, and there are three Mountain West players who made the cut.
This postseason bowl game is the best of the many out there and typically those who go to Mobile, Alabama end up getting selected in the NFL Draft, so the odds of getting the next level is huge.
Josh Oliver – San Jose State, TE
Oliver was named a 2018 first-team All-Mountain West selection while being the main focal point on an otherwise not so good Spartans offense. He had 56 receptions for 709 yards and four touchdowns; those numbers were best in the Mountain West and nationally second for receptions, yards and scores.
Dax Raymond – Utah State, TE
Raymond is the second Mountain West tight end to earn a Senior Bowl invite but he also gave up his final year of eligibility as well. His numbers were not great as he missed four games with a broken hand.
Despite missing part of the season he was a Mountain West honorable mention selection with 25 receptions for 355 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Carl Granderson – Wyoming, DL
Granderson is one of many great Wyoming playmakers on its defense, but he may be the best among the front seven.
He was a second-team all-Mountain West selection this past year. For his career, Granderson had 35.5 tackles for loss and 16.5 tackles. His best year was in 2017 where he had 16 TFL’s, 8.5 sacks, two interceptions and a fumble.
