The Spartans are back on Thursday trying to find their second win of the season after a little over a week off. After playing a few close games in a row, having a chance to win it in the second half multiple times, the Spartans lost to Indiana State 57-86 and were playing from behind the entire game. The Spartans were dominated from the start as they fell down by 24 at the half. As a team, Sycamore shot 76% from the field and 66.7% from 3 while the Spartans shot only 23.3% and 14.3% in the first half. Indiana State would go in to finish the game shooting 64.2% while San Jose shot only 30.4%. San Jose State was also rebounded 39-23 by the Sycamores.

Bethune Cookman comes in ranked 306 in the KenPom Rankings and 285 in the BPI Rankings which means the Spartans have a decent chance to pick up there second win on the season. The Wildcats have a couple wins against lesser opponents like Trinity Baptist College and Stetson but have been unable to beat quality opponents such as the University of Miami and Marquette. Bethune Cookman plays in the MEAC (Mid Eastern Athletic Conference) and captured a share of the conference title last season. Ryan Rider leads the charge as he is in his second season as head coach after going 18-14 last season which was the second most wins in school history. The Wildcats return 4 starters from last season’s team and were picked to win the conference title again this year. The players to watch on the Wildcats include two senior forwards Shawntrez Davis and Soufiyane Diakite who were both chosen as first team all-conference players.
