MWC Wire Top 25 Countdown: #1 Caleb Martin
The No. 1 player in the MWC Wire Top 25 Basketball Countdown is Nevada forward Caleb Martin.
Martin, the defending Mountain West Player of the Year, returns to school after averaging 18.9 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.3 steals per game last season. The North Carolina State transfer converted a number of key baskets en route to Nevada’s Sweet 16 berth in the NCAA Tournament.
Martin declared for the NBA Draft in the spring alongside his brother Cody, but both chose to remain in Reno for one final season with the Wolf Pack. Caleb Martin has collected a number of preseason honors, most notably being named to the preseason All-American First Team.
