MWC Wire Top 25 Countdown: #7 Shakur Juiston
The No. 7 player in the MWC Wire Top 25 Basketball Countdown is UNLV forward Shakur Juiston.
Juiston is a former JUCO transfer by the way of Hutchinson Community College in Hutchinson, Kansas. The New Jersey native averaged 14.6 points and 10 rebounds per game last season, his first as a D-I player.
Juiston’s rebounding and offensive efficiency numbers popped off the page in ’17-18. He ranked among the top 100 nationally in effective field goal percentage, true shooting percentage, two-point field goal percentage, and was also among the top 200 in both offensive and defensive rebounding percentage.
Juiston is an excellent big man who is primed for another productive campaign in Vegas. He figures to be in the mix for the league’s player of the year honors by season’s end.
