MWC Wire Top 25 Countdown: #19 Makuach Maluach
The No. 19 player in the MWC Wire Top 25 Basketball Countdown is New Mexico sophomore wing Makuach Maluach.
Maluach enters his sophomore season in Albuquerque after averaging 9.6 points and 2.5 rebounds per game in ’17-18. The Australian product also converted 55.5 percent of his shot attempts, including a 29-63 mark from beyond the three-point line.
Even though Maluach’s freshman season was a major success, there is still a great deal of potential for the 6-5 wing to become one of the conference’s top players before graduation day. He can be a matchup nightmare with his lanky wingspan and quickness against bigger forwards.
The Lindy’s College Basketball Preview magazine coverboy could be capable of being recognized as the league’s breakout player in ’18-19.
