MWC Wire Top 25 Countdown: #20 Deion James
The No. 20 player in the MWC Wire Top 25 Basketball Countdown is Colorado State senior forward Deion James.
James, a JUCO transfer by the way of Pima Junior College Arizona, jumped onto the scene quickly in his first season in Fort Collins. The 6-8 forward averaged 10.4 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game, starting in 21 of his 31 appearances. James spent his freshman year of college with North Carolina A&T, where he played in 21 games.
The former JUCO national player of the year is coming off knee surgery but is expected to be ready to go by the start of the season. It’s anticipated that James will start immediately alongside Nico Carvacho in the elite Ram frontcourt.
