GAME NOTES (PDF): Nevada | Air Force

Air Force head coach Troy Calhoun has a chance at history in this game if his team can get the victory. He would become just the second Mountain West coach to have 50 conference wins and would join Rocky Long who achieved that feat with his team at New Mexico and also San Diego State.

If his Falcons are going to get the win its defense needs to step up and have a big game. There will be a lot of points in this game and Air Force’s style of play is usually not suited well to go point-for-point. Last week agianst Utah State it needed special teams and turnovers to keep that game close.

It is simple to say but the Falcons will grind the ball on the ground to take advantage of the Wolf Pack’s weakness which is just average within the Mountain West. Air Force will just run the ball as much as possible while chewing up the clock and leave the potent Nevada offense on the sideline.

The Wolf Pack will need to mimic Utah State which used a strong passing game to get quick strikes against the Falcons. Nevada will need to make every opportunity on offense count if they are to get a road win and start conference play with a victory and get halfway to a bowl game.

This game will feature a lot of points and will be a sneaky good and exciting game this weekend.
