Week 3 Mountain West Football Odds
Who are the favorites, underdogs this week
Week 3 is nearly here and as we do each and every week here are the look at the odds for the Mountian West games this week. Please, do not take these predictions as a sure thing to make a few bucks — where legal — as they are mostly for fun and a different angle of looking at these games.
Thursday, Sept. 13 Tennessee Tech at Utah State (NL) 8 P.M. et
There is no line on this game between the Aggies and an FCS foe but if there was one it would lean very heavily favor for Utah State. If the Aggies are improved as we all believe they are then this game should be a blowout.
Hawaii at Army (-6.5) 12 p.m. ET
Hawaii is slowly becoming the darling of college football with its 3-0 start which is being propelled by its new run-n-shoot offense that is putting up a lot of points. The Warriors defense does leave something to be desired and will take on an Army team that will run the triple-option and test this rush defense for Hawaii. The line does seem a bit high but one thing to consider is that this game kicks at 6 a.m. local time in Hawaii.
No. 17 Boise State at no. 24 Oklahoma State (-3) 3:30 P.M. ET
This is the game of the week in the Mountain West and one of the best of the country for Week 3. Both of these teams put up a ton of points and this could be a shootout, however, Boise State’s defense has been challenged a bit more as they played a usually solid Troy offense. That Broncos defense could prove to be the difference in this game.
Wofford at Wyoming (NL) 4 p.m. ET
Wyoming really needs this game in the worst way. The two-game losing streak has not been kind for the Cowboys losing to both Missouri and Washington State. The Cowboys need its offense to find its groove and even though this is against an FCS team, it will provide a boost for Wyoming and possibly help it going forward.
Colorado State at Florida (-20.5) 4 p.m. ET
The Rams will have a tough time in this game since they are playing its fifth straight power five team and back-to-back SEC foe. However, this Gators team just lost to Kentucky and the defense that Florida is known to have is not quite there for this 2018 team. Expect for this one to be closer than the 20.5 line.
San Jose State at Oregon (-41) 5 p.m. ET
Oh boy, this is a lot of points. Not sure if betting any money on this game is a smart idea but if you do maybe take the Spartans to cover. San Jose State has some offensive weapons but they still might be a year too early to even stay within five touchdowns vs. Oregon.
Oregon State at Nevada (-3.5) 7 p.m. ET
This is a mildly surprising line with the Wolf Pack being a home favorite against a Power Five team, but the Beavers are really bad on both sides of the ball. Nevada should be able to use this game to get its offense clicking and win by about a touchdown.
