2018 Preseason Coaches Poll: Boise State Ranked

The initial preseason Amway USA TODAY coaches poll is out and it marks the beginning of the college football season, so to speak. The Mountain West had just one team ranked and it should come to no surprise that it is Boise State who is preseason No. 22nd.
The Broncos are the highest rated team from the Group of Five and are the extremely early leader for a New Year’s Six Bowl game. The other teams from outside the power leagues which are ranked include Central Florida which is 23rd.
Boise State does have one opponent in the top 25 and that is Oklahoma State which comes in at 25th. The two play in Stillwater, Oklahoma, on Sept. 15.
Mountain West teams which received votes were San Diego State with 15 points (No. 40) as well as Fresno State earned four (No. 47).
