2018 Mountain West Football 50 Best Players: #38, Nevada WR Brendan O’Leary-Orange
The Nevada Wolf Pack’s big playmaking receiver is next on our countdown of the Mountain West Conference’s top 50 players in 2018.
O’Leary-Orange knows how to be explosive.
Our countdown of the Mountain West Conference’s 50 best football players continues with yet another wide receiver, Brendan O’Leary-Orange of the Nevada Wolf Pack, who was voted #38 on this year’s list.
It took a little while for Nevada’s new Air Raid attack to get going, but you’d be hard-pressed to find a Mountain West pass-catcher who was more explosive than the 6’4″ O’Leary-Orange once it did. He caught just 39 passes last year, but his catch rate was 65%, he averaged 15.9 yards per catch, and he scored four touchdowns.
More importantly, he became a weapon that could stretch the field: His seven catches of 40+ yards ranked in the top 20 nationally. It may be asking a lot that he could do such a thing again, but with a full year in the pass-heavy attack, O’Leary-Orange could easily pass 1,000 yards for Nevada.
