2018 Mountain West Football 50 Best Players: #41, Boise State WR A.J. Richardson
The Boise State wide receiver is the first Bronco on this year’s countdown of Mountain West football’s top 50 players.
Will Richardson be the next in a line of elite Boise State receivers?
Mountain West Wire’s countdown of the conference’s 50 best football players comes to its first wide receiver and first unanimous selection, Boise State’s A.J. Richardson, who is #41 on this year’s list.
If you look at 2017 as a whole, Richardson’s numbers might seem underwhelming. He caught 33 passes for 494 yards and two touchdowns in his junior season, but he had a 61% catch rate and was an important part of Boise State’s run through the Mountain division gauntlet, averaging over 20 yards per catch in a four-game stretch against Utah State, Nevada, Colorado State and Air Force.
Now, with last year’s leading receiver Cedrick Wilson in the NFL, Richardson will look to cap his Broncos career with one more conference crown and, perhaps, a win in a New Year’s Day bowl game.
