Boise State Will Join An Elite Group After The NBA Draft
The Broncos will achieve an amazing goal.
Only one other Mountain West team has achieved this feat.
The Boise State Broncos athletics programs are really good at the money making sports. Football has been a dominant force for nearly two decades but the hoops program has not quite gotten to that level, or even close really.
However, that will change a bit after the NBA Draft. Hutchison is expected to be a first-round pick, and if he does he will join Leighton Vander Esch who was a taken in the first round by the Dallas Cowboys in the NFL Draft.
If this happens then Boise State will be the second Mountain West school ever to achieve this feat, well sort of.
It depends if you want to count Fresno State who had a first-rounder in both the NBA and NFL Draft’s with Paul George and Ryan Matthews back in 2010./ They are currently in the Mountain West, but was a WAC school back then.
The other is the University of Utah which definitely counts for this as the Utes were in the conference in 2005 when not only did they have two first-round picks but Alex Smith and Andrew Bogut went No. 1 overall in both sports.
Regardless of the tecnicalities, Boise State will join an elite group of schools once Hutchison is taken in the first-round.
