Rodney Terry Set To Take UTEP job.
In a very unexpected news, Fresno State is going to lose basketball coach Rodney Terry to UTEP, per ABC 7 KVIA.
This news has developed quickly as Terry was one of five head coaches to interview for the opening.
The Miners job has been open for months when Tim Floyd stepped down after a 1-5 start.
This is odd Terry would be interested in a team in a lower league and lower pay, but that seems to be the case.
The Miners do have some history and were decent under Floyd, but at the moment Fresno State is a better job.
Why would a coach leave after having won the 2016 Mountain West tournament?
Well, there has been some friction within the athletic department when Terry was reworking his contract.
More notably is that he believes he has taken Fresno State as far as he can.
