Who are you taking in San Diego State vs Nevada part 3?
The second part of the Mountain West Semifinal ends with the final series in the San Diego State and Nevada saga.
The Aztecs have sustained a 7-game win streak with a victory over Fresno State in the opening round, 72-64 and look to keep the magic going with seniors Trey Kell, Malik Pope, and Kameron Rooks.
The Wolfpack are in the revenge spot, splitting the regular season series, and closed the regular season with a loss on San Diego State’s senior night. The top-seeded Wolfpack are fresh off of beating in-state rival UNLV at Thomas & Mack, 79-74.

Why the Aztecs will win

San Diego State is the hottest team in the Mountain West. They have been on a tear since getting handed a 25-point loss by Nevada on February 10. This team has found its groove, and have looked like the team they were projected to be. With seniors Trey Kell and Malik Pope leading this young team through the winning streak, this is the team no one wants to play.

Why the Wolfpack will win

The 22nd ranked team in the country, over came a slow start against UNLV. Down 8 points to close the half, the Eric Musselman’s Wolfpack team looked in dire need of a break. After going on a 22-6 run, the Wolfpack showed why they were the standard bearers of Mountain West conference hoops. Josh Hall came off the bench and stepped up to win the game against UNLV. Beating in-state rivals has got the Wolfpack feeling like they run the tables the rest of the way.
