Does the AP even watch college football?

The latest AP top 25 poll does not have Boise State and this is our reaction.

Boise State topped a good defensive team in Wyoming and were not even really challenged in the 34-14 victory. The Broncos are the first team out with 86 points and it is fine that they are not ranked ahead of Oklahoma State.

There were five teams that were not ranked last week but did get ranked ahead of Boise State. Last week, the Broncos were two spots out of being ranked. Colorado gets ranked after beating UCLA — the Buffs were getting more votes last week than the Broncos.

Other unranked and earning fewer votes than Boise State but jumped them in the rankings were Virginia Tech (Beat then No. 21 Duke, so ok, I guess but they lost to Old Dominion), Oklahoma State (fine with it since Boise State lost), Florida (beat No. 21 Mississippi State), N.C. State (undefeated and beat Virginia).

When diving a bit deeper an argument could be made for some of these teams being ranked about Boise State but not all of them.

Next week will provide a more definitive ranking, or not a ranking when Boise State plays San Diego State which earned a 25th place vote. Also, Hawaii earned a single 25th place vote despite needing five overtimes to beat winless San Jose State, but for some reason, Fresno State which took it to Toledo is not getting any consideration.
