Gallup heads to a Dallas team looking for a leading receiver.

With the 81st pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, the Dallas Cowboys took a top playmaker in Michael Gallup.

Michael Gallup at 6’1″, 200lbs was the Rams top target the past two seasons. Gallup was considered a top 10 receiver by many draft pundits. He put up 176 catches, 2,685 receiving yards, and 21 touchdowns in two seasons as a Ram. In 2017 against Alabama, Gallup has five catches for 81 yards. Some put a knock on those statistics, but that is impressive against the talented Crimson Tide defense. In his Colorado State career, Gallup has 12 100-yard games, including three 200-yard performances.

Pro Football Focus had Gallup as their top rated receiver in the 2018 NFL draft class. He finished in the top 10, each of the past two seasons, in yards per route run. Gallup isn’t particularly fast, he ran around a 4.5 at the combine, but he creates separation and uses his quickness to beat defenders off the line. He can also out physical some corners.

He joins fellow Biletnikoff Award finalist Rashard Higgins as a wide receiver drafted from Colorado State.
