Johnson’s seen and done it all for the Bulldogs.
Our countdown of the conference’s best football players has come to our top-ranked wide receiver and number one Bulldog, Fresno State wide receiver KeeSean Johnson, whose continued growth was vital to the team’s turnaround last fall.
Johnson emerged as the unquestioned leader of a surprisingly deep pass-catching unit with 77 catches, and a 57% catch rate, for 1,013 yards and eight touchdowns in 2017. He earned second-team all-Mountain West honors.
Now a senior, Johnson has played through both the decline and revival of Fresno State football and has a chance to leave the program as its all-time leading receiver (he currently trails Charlie Jones by 1,221 yards and Davante Adams by 53 catches). More importantly, he’ll have one last opportunity to leave a winning legacy by leading the Bulldogs to another conference championship and, perhaps, something more.
