Another SDSU lineman makes the cut.
Mountain West Wire’s countdown of the conference’s 50 best football players comes to another of San Diego State’s young offensive lineman, right guard Keith Ismael, who is the sixth Aztec on this year’s list at #27.
Like fellow top 50 honoree Tyler Roemer, Ismael stepped into the starting lineup last fall after redshirting in 2016 and excelled right away. He started all 13 games for the Aztecs, eight at center and five at guard, and earned a second-team all-conference selection after helping to block for the Mountain West’s best running game.
Ismael, now a sophomore, will be a part of a young but tested unit that could possibly block for yet another 2,000-yard rusher and, more importantly, play their way back to the Mountain West title.
