Mountain West Wire’s countdown of the conference’s best players pays one last visit to the Nevada Wolf Pack offense, where McLane Mannix’s breakout pushed him to the #13 spot on this year’s list.
A three-star recruit in Nevada’s 2017 recruiting class, Mannix instantly became one of the conference’s most explosive wide receivers when, despite erratic quarterback play, he grabbed six catches of 30-plus yards in the Wolf Pack’s first five games. He cleared 100 yards three times en route to finishing sixth in the Mountain West with 57 catches and fifth with 778 receiving yards. Mannix also caught six touchdowns on the year.
Now that Jay Norvell’s Air Raid attack has found its weapons, Mannix could be in for a big year as Nevada continues its climb back toward contention.
