The Aztecs are going to play against one of the powerhouse schools from the Big East in the Xavier Musketeers.  Xavier is led by forward Naji Marshall who was averaging 14.3 ppg and 8.3 rpg before the start of the Maui Tournament.  In the first game of the Maui Tournament, the Musketeers  lost in overtime to #8 Auburn by the score of 79-88.

San Diego State will try to use their feisty defense and their balanced scoring to overcome the team from the Big East. In the opening round lost to the Duke Blue Devils (90-64) guard Devin Watson scored 15 points grabbed four rebounds and dished out three assists.   Also, guard Jeremy Hemsley had 12 points for SDSU. In addition, both forwards Matt Mitchell and Jalen Mcdaniels had 11.

If the Aztecs can have better ball movement on offense and keep playing that great San Diego State defense they will have a great opportunity to come out with the victory. SDSU also needs help from the bench when their starters take a rest.
