The San Diego State Aztecs, once again, have their work cut out for them as they face Iowa State.

The Cyclones ran through Illinois 84-68 and are seeking another victory to build on their solid 4-1 start to the season. The Cyclones are averaging 78 points on 46 percent shooting and allowing 64.8 points on 38.4 percent shooting.  Is that enough to best the Aztecs?

Marial Shayok is averaging 19.8 points and two assists while Michael Jacobson is averaging 16 points and seven rebounds. Talen Horton-Tucker is the third double-digit scorer and Lindell Wigginton is managing 3 assists.

In the Aztecs’ 79-74 win against Xavier, Jalen McDaniels scored 25 point and Devin Watson added 21.

San Diego State (3-1) was beat by top-ranked Duke in its Maui opener and fell behind by 19 early against Xavier (2-3). The Aztecs answered with a 19-3 run to pull within three by halftime and had an early 16-2 run in the second half to go up 58-49 and pick up the eventual 79-74 victory.
