This is a huge test for the Aztecs who are going up against three future lottery picks in Zion Williamson, R.J. Barrett, and Cam Reddish. They also are considered the three best players in Maui, according to ESPN. The World Wide Leader does put San Diego State’s Jalen McDaniels as the fifth best player and on the pre-tournament all-second-team.

Aztecs have talent but the size difference is an issue vs. Duke, as you can see below.

Playing in Maui is a very different experience and Duke’s Mike Krzyzewski tries to play up how difficult playing in Hawaii. He is just toying with everyone.

“Environmentally, it’s different than anything you’ll be in,” Krzyzewski said. “You play at different times. You have to travel. It’s 11 hours to get here. With the adjustments, positively or negatively you can’t put too much into what happens here. But it puts your team through situations probably that they won’t be in during the year.”

Coach K is digging deep for motivation for his team this week.
