San Jose State made some improvements, so what’s next for the team?
At the start of the new December National Letter-of-Intent signing period, the San Jose State University football coaching staff aggressively and assertively addressed specific positions created by its recently graduated senior class.
This year, there was more than a one-for-one exchange of starting seniors from the most recent 2017 Spartans team in the offensive line and defensive secondary for the upcoming newcomers in 2018. Five of the seven starters who left SJSU received All-Mountain West post-season recognition at least once at the FBS and NCAA Division I level.
Friends of the San Jose State football program are invited to the annual “National Letter-of-Intent Celebration” at the Diaz-Compean Student Union Building on Wednesday, February 7, 2018. Reservations will be required. Contact Associate Athletics Director for Football Advancement Tim Rice at (408) 924-1128 or at tim.rice@sjsu.edu.
Season tickets for the 2018 SJSU home games will go on sale after January 1, 2018. The Spartans’ opponents in CEFCU Stadium will be non-conference opponents: Army West Point and UC Davis; and Mountain West foes Colorado State, Hawaii, Nevada and UNLV. Army West Point will also make its first appearance at CEFCU Stadium.
The rest of the SJSU Class of 2018 football signees will be announced on Wednesday, February 7, 2018.
