Larry Eustachy And The Rams Coaching Staff Continue To Add Former JUCO Transfers
Colorado State has another JUCO transfer set in place for next season
Edwards is a talented guard that will help the Rams next season
Colorado State has received commitment from former Texas Tech Red Raider and JUCO transfer Hyron Edwards.
Edwards, a 6’1″, 175-pound combo guard from East Chicago, Indiana, enrolled with Texas Tech on June 1 after having interest in Purdue, Indiana, Illinois, Cal, and others. He’s rated as a four-star recruit from the class of 2015.
Edwards never qualified for NCAA academic standards out of high school and opted to play at the JUCO level at Trinity Valley Community College in Athens, Texas. As a freshman with Trinity Valley, Edwards averaged 13.7 points per game, 5.5 assists per game, 3.3 rebounds per game and 2.5 steals per game. He shot 85.2% from the free throw line and also had a 3.3 assist-to-turnover ratio. In his sophomore season, he averaged 18.5 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.7 steals per game.
Edwards, despite being on the roster in the preseason, did not record any playing time with Texas Tech. He was in concussion protocol to begin the season and made his decision to transfer before being fully cleared.
