Brandon McCoy is considered a top 20 pick in next years NBA Draft.
When Brandon McCoy, a five star center out of San Diego, selected UNLV over Oregon, Arizona and San Diego State, there was instant excitement breathed into the program and the fan base. The 7’1″ center is a program changing type talent, and he was instantly expected to make the Runnin’ Rebels relevant again, and so far he’s been exceeding the lofty expectations that were heaped upon him.
Through ten games so far this year, McCoy is averaging 20.2 points and 11.1 rebounds per game, and is now being touted a potential top 20 draft pick in next years NBA Draft, according to CBS Sports. McCoy’s combination of size, athletcism and soft touch around the rim allow him to score almost at will when he gets the ball.
In addition to his draft stock rising, McCoy was also named Mountian West Player of the Week for the second time this season for his performances against Oral Roberts and also Illinois.
With the most challenging portion of their non conference schedule behind them, look for McCoy to continue his dominant play, and compete for the Mountain West Player of the Year once conference play begins.
