Colorado State Is Going To Have A New Defensive Staff Next Year
Head Coach Mike Bobo has said that the Rams new Defensive Coordinator will have a clean slate to hire who they want.
The CSU Rams Are Getting A Whole New Defensive Staff
With the Colorado State Rams signing 12 defensive recruits on the new early signing day for college football, head coach Mike Bobo also said in a press conference that defensive line coach Ricky Logo and Special Teams Coordinator and safeties coach Jamie Bryant were let go after the bowl game.
According to Kelly Lyell of the Fort Collins Coloradoan, coach Bobo wants to give the new Defensive Coordinator the freedom to hire who they want.
Coach Bobo is still in the process of hiring a defensive coordinator according to Lyell. He was in a rush to hire a defensive coordinator before the early signing day, but was told to slow down by people he trusts, including former CSU coach Sonny Lubick.
Bobo also mentioned in his press conference that the team lost two recruits because they didn’t have a DC signed.
When making the statement that he was still looking for a new DC, Bobo dispelled the rumor that former Florida State Defensive Coordinator Charles Kelly was in the process of being hired.
With the announcement that coaches Logo and Bryant won’t be retained, that brings the number of open coaching positions at CSU to 6 with the addition of a 10th coach.
With so much turnover, one question on CSU fans mind is how will the players respond to the new coaches and potentially new scheme and how that will affect the Rams chances next year.
